To beat Serena Williams, one has got to have skill, power and the ability to receive her serve.
Not many players have all that. So it was no surprise China's No 1 player, Li Na, lost to her, failing to emulate her 2006 Wimbledon quarterfinal appearance.
Top seed Serena smacked 11 aces, 21 winners and made only six unforced errors in a 7-5, 6-3 victory over No 9 seed Li.
