Stores sell police badges without ID checks

Two stores have been found selling police equipment without asking for identification from buyers.

The sales department of Beijing CDAQ Security Equipment Company near the Lize bridge in Fengtai district sold an extendable baton to an undercover reporter from Beijing Times on Dec 15, the newspaper reported yesterday.

Another reporter from the newspaper purchased one winter police uniform with the police insignia, from another store dealing in police equipment located in Fengtai district too. The story carried no sign and it did not check the reporter's identity either, according to the newspaper.
