GHD engineers 80 years of growth
Founded in Australia in 1928, GHD has grown from an engineering company to a diverse international professional services provider specializing in infrastructure, mining, industry, defense, property and the environment. Today, it is ranked among the world's top 30 architectural design and engineering companies with over 6,000 employees in 15 countries.
In the past 80 years, GHD has built a reputation for innovation, an ambition to create a sustainable world, and a long-term commitment to its clients. It attributes its success to strong partnerships with clients and associates.
GHD has brought its strengths to support major sporting events such as the Beijing Olympics, Sydney Olympics and Doha Asian Games. In China, GHD is introducing sustainable designs to a wide range of development projects and is managing the multi-million dollar joint Australia-China environment program.
Operating in China since the mid-1990s, GHD has over 350 staff in offices in Beijing, Changsha, Hong Kong and Wuhan. It has worked on significant projects for buildings, the environment, water, transportation and mining in China.
GHD is positioned as a bridge between Chinese and Australian companies. Over the next two years, it plans to increase its staff in China to 900 professionals.
"We support international companies investing in China as well as Chinese companies abroad, especially Australia. GHD provides integrated design and consulting services within a single global network of offices," said Peter Wood, general manager of GHD China.
With 80 prosperous years of providing consulting and professional services, GHD has prepared itself well for future success.
