Yalong beachfront has highest concentration of five-star hotels

Hainan is increasingly becoming an island of luxury as five-star hotels from both home and abroad scramble to tap its booming tourism.

Leading hotels and resorts, including Shangri-la, Kempinski, Westin, Banyan Tree and Le Meridien, have all opened on the tropical island. Some of them operate more than one facility.

Hilton, the flagship brand of US-based Hilton Hotels Corp, has two hotels in Hainan, one in the capital city Haikou and another in Sanya, the famous seaside resort.
