CONCERTS
Conductor Wang Xiaodan is well known in Guangzhou. He was born in the province, and developed his career there. However, his fame has spread throughout the world. He has held the baton for many different concerts in Austria and other countries. This weekend, Wang will join forces with his former teacher, Zhou Zhengsong, to present a symphony concert in Guangzhou.

Susanne Gruetzmann is one of Germany's most famous pianists. As a 20-year-old, she won two of the most important piano awards in the world - the Robert-Schumann-Wettbewerb and the Vianna da Motta Wettbewerb Lissabon.
Gruetzman will hold a solo piano concert. She will present well-known piano masterpieces, such as Beethoven's Piano Sonata No 21 Op 53 (Waldstein), Debussy's Les Prludes, and Chopin's Preludes Op 28.

EXHIBITIONS
An oil painting exhibition, Red and Black, displays images of Guangzhou through the eyes of French artist Pascal Maljette, who lived in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region before moving to Guangzhou. The exhibition looks for beauty everywhere, even in places we don't expect it.

Chen Baisha is a Cantonese scholar of the Ming Dynasty. His masterpieces, including paintings and calligraphies, are still influencing art styles in Lingnan region. He is also an educationist. Guangzhou Art Museum is holding an exhibition displaying dozens of Chen's masterpieces to commemorate the scholar's 580th birthday.
