Warning on joining NATO

Ukrainian membership of NATO will have serious implications for Kiev's relationship with Moscow, Russia's Foreign Ministry said yesterday, days after Ukraine said it wanted to move towards the Western military pact.

"In this context, the possible integration of Ukraine into NATO will seriously aggravate multi-dimensional Russian-Ukrainian relations," the ministry said in a statement.
