SHANGHAI: The lyricist of a song that has become an anthem for the country's grassroots stock traders has claimed his work has been copied without authorization.

Liu Chunquan, the writer's attorney, told China Daily yesterday that the Shanghai Pudong New Area District People's Court had accepted a suit against the original singer of the song and a music website for copying and using the song for commercial purposes without permission.

The lyricist, 32-year-old Gong Kaijie, is demanding compensation of 450,000 yuan ($61,000) from the two and a public apology.
