Action over bluefin tuna

The European Commission launched legal action yesterday against seven EU member countries over their alleged failure to provide data on the levels of bluefin tuna amid concern about overfishing.

"Bluefin tuna is dwindling due to years of overfishing," the European Union's executive arm said in a statement. "It is imperative that the international recovery plan ... be urgently and fully implemented."
