Chinese shoe manufacturer Aokang launched a promotion in Shanghai early this month, inviting 888 customers to get measured and have shoes tailor-made.

The company recently introduced the service for people with big feet to have shoes made to measure.

Secret site

A website called Mimi Wang that allows users to vent their spleens confidentially is proving popular.

Users can get whatever's bothering them off their chests anonymously on the site (www.mimiwang.com.cn).

"Mimi" means secret in Chinese.

The website's founder said it was set up to provide a means for white-collar workers to de-stress.

Pet stores in Chongqing are selling products and services to prevent sunstroke.

Many pets in the city are suffering in the heat, prompting some stores to start selling cooling cushions, necklaces and special drinks to prevent sunstroke.
