Special Supplement: Building a national bio-industry base

The Changchun Corn Industry Park is expected to become one of the nation's largest bio-industry bases in about 10 years, with a focus on corn chemicals and deep processing of agricultural products.

By that time, the park's annual corn processing capacity will reach 8 million tons, with its industrial output value expected to exceed 100 billion yuan, according to local authorities.

The park, officially founded in October 2005, is located in Xinglongshan, the "southwest-northeast industrial axis" of Changchun. The total area of the park is 61.3 sq km, while the first phase covers 8 sq km.
