Most tourism officials would kill for a song like "Girls of Dabancheng," a folk song so popular that no amount of money can buy the publicity it generates.
In reality, most tourists are somewhat disappointed when they make a stop in this small town, located halfway between downtown Urumqi and Turpan in Xinjiang.
