A guide to kungfu tea

China Daily | Updated: 2007-09-08 06:22

A basic kungfu tea set includes a chapan (special tea tray with a draining hole), gaiwan (tea pot), gong dao bei (public pot with filter) and pairs of wen xiang bei (sniffer cups) and cha bei (tea cups).

1. Tea leaves should be selected and placed in a display holder in advance.

2. Bring the water to boil while arranging the teaware. Gaiwan and gong dao bei are placed side by side on the chapan, in front of the server. Wen xiang bei and chabei are placed side by side in pairs on saucers in the center.
