A desperate search for US millionaire aviator Steve Fossett resumed yesterday after a plane piloted by the daredevil adventurer went missing over a mountainous region of Nevada, officials said.
Fossett, who has survived numerous brushes with death during a series of record-breaking solo flights around the world by balloon and airplane, has not been heard from since taking off from a private airstrip early Monday.

The 63-year-old adventurer's family raised the alarm when Fossett failed to return following his departure around 9:00 am (1600 GMT) on Monday in a single-engine Bellanca plane, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officials said.
