Toy exports suspended

China suspended exports by two local toymakers that were involved in product recalls in the US, the quality inspector said. Dongguan Hansheng Wood Products Factory and Foshan's Lee Der Industrial Co made wooden toy trains and other products for RC2 Corp and Mattel Inc with lead-tainted paint that led to the recall in June and August of 2.5 million items, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement on its website yesterday.
