HK forex reserves
Hong Kong's foreign currency reserves rose to $137.1 billion at the end of last month from $136.3 billion a month earlier, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority said. The city is the world's ninth-largest holder of foreign currency reserves.
Not just in Spain
Bullfighting has been the local obsession for a village in East China's Fujian Province for over 100 years. And it provides the cattle farmers of Hantang with a tempting sideline. Bullfights are held once a year in rounds over several months. Bulls undergo strength training to increase the chances of their owners winning cash prizes if their bulls win.
Cross-Straits trade
Trade volume across the Taiwan Straits rose 10.1 percent year-on-year to $55.3 billion in the past six months, with the mainland's exports up 15.1 percent to $11 billion and imports up 9 percent to $44.3 billion, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
By the end of June, Taiwan had invested $44.6 billion on the mainland - 6.2 percent of its total overseas investment.
