Artful business

A fine art graduate from Nanjing Art College set up a business last year painting murals in residential apartments.

Lu Xiao, 24, said his colorful murals are more personal than traditional wall coverings like wallpaper or paintings.

Lu's dcor service, done in oils, became popular when he posted an ad online. He charges 400 yuan to thousands of yuan for one apartment. Lu said he gets more than 10 orders a month, which earn him tens of thousands of yuan.

Business cards are no longer strictly the domain of adults - now children can network, too. A shop in Guangzhou recently started making cards for children. The cards include a child's name, telephone number, photo or cartoon and hobbies. Parents of children getting in early with business cards said that as most of them were the only child in the family, it helped them make friends and develop communication skills.
