'Let's not talk about the weather' as Britain floods

In a nation obsessed with talking about the weather, some might say that Britons have had almost too much of a good thing in recent days.
Torrential mid-summer rainfall - a month's worth fell in one day and kept on falling - has led to what's been dubbed the "worst flooding in living memory", with up to 10,000 families homeless and 350,000 houses without running water.
With weather like this, what else is there to talk about?
