Medical care for all residents

An active effort by the government is the most important factor in realizing medical insurance for all, said an editorial in Workers' Daily. An excerpt follows:

According to the draft regulation on children's medical insurance of Shenzhen, the city is to implement children's medical insurance system from September this year. After covering adults and migrant workers, the medical insurance system covering all local residents will be established in Shenzhen.

There are also new policies about medical insurance for all residents adopted in cities like Beijing, Changchun and Qingdao. The detailed stipulations in the policies may not be the same but active efforts made by local governments are the common characteristics.
