"The Jingyue Economic Development Zone is set to become the central ecological district, the central recreation district and an environment-friendly industrial base in Changchun," said Guan Shusen, director of the zone's administrative committee, while describing the zone's development blueprint.

According to Guan, such an ambition requires scientific planning and strict assessment of the environmental impact of projects.

For this purpose, the zone's authorities have invited renowned domestic and overseas planning institutes to work out a development plan for it.
