Established in 1989, Ameco Beijing (Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Corporation) is a joint venture between Air China and Lufthansa German Airlines, the first of its kind in the aviation sector. Ameco Beijing's facilities cover an area of more than 600,000 sq m between Terminal 2 and the under-construction Terminal 3 at Beijing Capital International Airport.
Ameco Beijing's maintenance facilities include:
A 35,900 sq m, four-bay hangar plus 8,500 sq m of repair shops;
A fully enclosed and temperature-controlled 10,000 sq m paint hangar that meets requirements for stripping, washing and painting any type of aircraft up to Boeing 747-400 size;
An engine repair and overhaul workshop and engine test cell covering 26,000 sq m; and 20,000 sq m of component workshops including temperature-controlled avionics and electric workshops, a landing gear overhaul shop and mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic workshops.
A four-bay "two-A380-sized" hangar close to Terminal 3 is under construction.
