Company fined for dumping waste into river

A construction firm in Northwest China's Shaanxi Province was fined 80,000 yuan ($10,300) for illegally dumping waste construction materials into the Weihe River.

The local river administration bureau in Baoji, a western city in the province, received a report that the firm, which is building a highway linking Baoji with Tianshui, a city in neighboring Gansu Province, dumped waste into the Weihe River.
