Doctors pull out nail lodged in man's lung

Doctors of a hospital in Anshan, Liaoning, successfully took out a 2-centimeter-long iron nail from a young man's lung, last Thursday.

Wang Hong swallowed the nail accidentally, as he held it between his teeth, while putting up some pictures. The nail lodged itself in the lung and remained there for five days, before Wang went to the hospital. He thought the nail would be in his stomach and would pass out in the feces.

It took doctors more than half-an-hour to detect the nail through X-ray, hold it with a long laryngo-fiberscope and pull it out through Wang's nose.
