ROK firms promised more access

SEOUL: Premier Wen Jiabao assured Republic of Korea (ROK) entrepreneurs yesterday that China will open its market wider and increase imports from the country.

He made the remarks at a luncheon with business people from both countries in Seoul before ending his two-day official visit to the ROK, the first by a Chinese premier in seven years.

At the same time, Wen said: "We also hope the ROK will lower import barriers to facilitate more Chinese products entering the ROK market."
