China and Japan are expected to expand cooperation in many sectors, according to Ministry of Commerce spokesman Wang Xinpei.

"The two countries see broad cooperation opportunities in various sectors such as technology, imports and other goods," he said, adding that Japanese firms' direct investment in China is sizeable.

Sino-Japanese trade and economic relations have seen healthy and steady growth over the past three decades. The bilateral trade volume has skyrocketed 200 times since the two countries established diplomatic relations.
