Biz people: Mogford to join Italian firm

BAE Systems Plc board member and former Chief Operating Officer Steve Mogford is leaving the company to become chief executive of Finmeccanica SpA's Selex Sensors and Airborne Systems SpA.
The executive "will have responsibility for both the UK and Italian operations", Rome-based Finmeccanica said yesterday in a filing to the Italian stock exchange.
Mogford, 50, will leave BAE after its May 9 annual general meeting, the company said in a Regulatory News Service statement.
Since the start of the year, Mogford has been responsible for consolidation in the UK surface shipbuilding and submarine sectors at the company.
