Too much time in the classroom without any experience in the real world can produce rote learners unprepared for problem solving after graduation.

Going out of the classroom and into various work units or the countryside is a vital part of education.

The latest proof is the two-year investigation conducted by four university students in Central China's Hunan Province. They visited more than 30 coal mines and interviewed more than 500 miners.
