Luxury pet funeral
Could you afford a luxury funeral for your pet? In a pet cemetery in Fuzhou, East China's Fujian Province, a funeral for a pet dog may cost as much as 5,000 yuan. Each dog will have its own coffin and tomb. It will also have its own name on the gravestone, even its sculpture beside the tomb, according to the builder of the cemetery, a local pet hospital. The hospital said it started the business in 2004, and only accepts pet dogs that died naturally.
Fen notes collector's item
A 5-fen note can be worth as much as 240 yuan, according to collectors in Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan Province.
Apart from the 5-fen notes, the price of some 1-fen and 2-fen notes has also increased by over 100 times, as the government stopped the circulation of the 1-, 2-, and 5-fen notes of the second version of the renminbi on April 1. The second version was issued in 1953. Five versions of the currency have been issued so far.
Wrapping boxes online
Over 1,000 customers and earning over 5,000 yuan a month - all from an online shop specializing in wrapping boxes.
Xiao Xue, a university student in Shanghai, opened the online shop in October selling delicate wrapping boxes made by herself, ranging from paper to plastic. She made a profit of more than 5,000 yuan during the Spring Festival and plans to set up another online shop soon.
