Woman uses satellite technology to track man
To be trusted is a greater compliment than to be loved. So it seems to be the case for Li, 30, a private firm manager in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi Province, who felt surprised after his girlfriend installed a GPS (global positioning system) in his car to place him under surveillance.
"I fell in love with my girlfriend one year ago. She is a good girl but she's pretty jealous and wants to know everything I do every day. Though I've done nothing harm to her, I feel embarrassed when I learned that she secretly installed GPS in my car," Li said.

Nursing care home delivered for the elderly
More investment is being made in nursing care for the elderly in Lanzhou, capital of Northwest China's Gansu Province. Yue Guiying, 88, is one of about 1,000 elderly people in the city who enjoys a free home care service.
The service allows the elderly to stay at home and get care similar to that provided in nursing homes and other welfare organizations.
In 2007, the local government will invest 1 million yuan ($128,000) for home nursing services.

One woman's selfless act to help the poor
If only there were more people like Tian Shuxiu.
Tian, 78, a resident in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi Province, has helped poor students anonymously for 22 years. Since 1986, Tian spent up to three months' wages to support poor students and used the alias, Love Youth, when she remitted the money.
"I have been retired and the only thing I can do is to help those poor students with my pensions. I will keep doing it," Tian said.
