House may be 'forcibly dismantled'

By Huang Zhiling | China Daily | Updated: 2007-04-03 06:53

The defiant owners of the reputed Chongqing "nail house" have been given a new ultimatum: move, or be moved.

The Jiulongpo District Court set the April 10 deadline after earlier deadlines, and negotiations on compensation for the couple were not met.

"If Yang Wu, the owner, does not comply with the ruling, the court will choose the time to forcibly dismantle his house," Huang Yun, chief of the Jiulongpo District government, said.
