Venture to take tofu further

South Korea's largest food producer CJ Corp has set up a joint venture with Beijing Er Shang (Group) Co Ltd, Beijing's biggest State-owned food group, to make tofu products.

The South Korean food conglomerate joined forces with Er Shang's subsidiary, Beijing Soybean Industry Corporation, the capital's largest tofu producer that has made White Jade tofu for 50 years.

The two sides invested a combined 210 million yuan in the venture, Beijing Er Shang CJ Food Ltd, with Er Shang taking a 51-percent stake and CJ holding the remaining 49 percent.
