Students come to victims' aid

By Zhu Zhe | China Daily | Updated: 2007-04-03 06:51

Eight months after his father was killed by a mass murderer in Northwest China's Shaanxi Province, nine-year-old Xiong Weitang received 1,340 yuan ($173) this weekend to help pay for school.

The funds, collected by students at a middle school in the provincial capital of Xi'an, were the first financial assistance of any sort to the victims of the killing spree.

Nine-year-old Luo Pinying and 14-year-old Wu Zhaoqin, whose fathers were also killed, also received assistance, local media reported yesterday.
