Singapore, which outranked 175 countries as the easiest place to do business according to the "Doing Business 2006" World Bank report, has increasingly become a globally recognized center of learning as the government pursues its policy of bilingual education and prioritizes investments in education.

SIM University (UniSIM), the country's fourth university, was formed in April 2005, some 13 years after the government appointed its precursor to run the Open University Degree Program (OUDP) in collaboration with The Open University of the United Kingdom.UniSIM: Education unlimited

With more than 40 academic programs, UniSIM offers the largest range of part-time degrees in Singapore. It targets working adults who wish to upgrade their qualifications for employability and also attracts people who wish to pursue enrichment courses.

With a broad-based curriculum, UniSIM gives students the opportunity to attain their educational aspirations and fulfill their potential.

"UniSIM will help enhance the capability and knowledge of Singaporean adults to strengthen our nation's workforce and overall economic competitiveness," says Professor Cham Tao Soon, the founder and chancellor of UniSIM and chairman of its Board of Trustees.

"Additionally, we want to promote the university to international students looking to study in Singapore and promote UniSIM as a reputable educational establishment which provides rigorous yet flexible programs," adds Cham, who also founded Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Management University.

UniSIM, with a current enrollment of more than 6,300 students, also has strong links with the leading universities in Singapore and other countries.
