Pay workers holiday pay

A provincial labor department should take actions to regulate overtime pay, says a signed piece in Dahe Daily. An excerpt follows:
The Labor and Social Security Department of East China's Jiangxi Province recently warned employers that workers should be paid overtime during the Spring Festival holidays when they did not have days off. Workers can report to local labor supervisory departments if employers refuse to pay or pay less than required.
In fact, it is a common practice for employers not to pay extra overtime for work during holidays. It is an open secret that employees have to choose between getting paid for overtime or keeping their jobs. Workers normally give up their rights not to lose their jobs.
