By Xun Feng | China Daily | Updated: 2007-02-28 07:11

Lunar New Year has always been a golden time for the tourism sector. But this year, a memorial hall in Tongliang County, in Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality has garnered media attention because of other activities that take place there.

The hall was created to commemorateQiu Shaoyun, a native of the county who is regarded as a hero after he died in 1952 during the War Against US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-53).

It used to be a desolate site dedicated to patriotic education, but today visitors find it has been turned into a playground.
