Neighbor not arrested, so lawyer sues police
A woman lawyer surnamed Zhang, whose mother alleges she was cursed by her neighbor, surnamed Zhao, has sued the local public security bureau in Wuchang, Hubei, because police refused to detain the alleged curser.
The 80-year-old mother was publicly cursed by Zhao because of trifles last week, Zhang said. Zhao should have been taken into custody for 15 days according to relevant Chinese laws and regulations.
But police who arrived after receiving Zhang's report refused to do that as they reconciled the dispute.
Wuchang District People's Court has accepted the case and will have a public hearing.
