Blackout no fun to riders at amusement park
Ten customers at Zhengzhou Century Amusement Park in the capital of Henan Province now know what circus performers who perform daring feats several meters off the ground go through.
The visitors were stranded in a roller coaster for more than an hour last Wednesday after a blackout occurred while the roller coaster was at its highest point.
They all descended a 20-meter-high iron ladder to safety.
The blackout also halted another ride the 120-meter-high Ferris Wheel.
The park staff had to gradually draw an iron rope to help pull the wheel around so that riders could get off.
