Changchun games won't suffer a 'no snow' problem

By He Na | China Daily | Updated: 2007-01-16 07:30

CHANGCHUN: This city will get an artificial snowfall before February 5 to ensure there is enough snow for Sixth Asian Winter Games.

The games' organization committee said yesterday that the biggest obstacle to the competition was the unusually warm temperature and less snowfall in Jilin Province this winter.

Statistics show major parts of Northeast China are experiencing a dry and warm winter, with the temperature higher than last year and the snowfall being just a fifth of the average.
