Number of Chinese lawyers
The number of lawyers working in China reached more than 5,500 full time and 1,300 part time, many working in 1,300 legal advisors' offices.
Restoration of China's legal institutions began in early 1980, and gained momentum after the provisional regulations governing the work of lawyers were adopted by the 15th meeting of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress in August, 1980.
