Human rope saves threesome from icy river
Two adults surnamed Wang and a 10-year-old boy were rescued last week from the freezing water of a river in Fushun, Liaoning Province, thanks to more than 30 kind-hearted passers-by.
The episode started with the 10-year-old boy, who was walking home on the ice and fell in. Then one of the adults tried to rescue him and fell in, and then the other adult.
Seeing the three struggling for survival in the river, the passers-by formed a human rope, hand in hand, until they reached them. The three rescued people urged local media to help them look for the rescuers so that they can give their heartfelt thanks in person.

10 rescued from ski lift after equipment stalls
At least 10 tourists were stranded in a ski lift cable car for 40 minutes last Saturday in Yanqing County of Beijing after the lift broke down.
A team took care of the rescue effort, with the only problem that most of them complained about the effects of the cold weather.
To compensate the tourists, managers of the ski slope refunded their admission fee and the cost of their travel and gave them a coupon for a free admission on their next visit.

Man advertises for wife by carrying sign in market
Maybe the fourth marriage will be the charm for an 81-year-old man in Changchun, capital of Jilin Province.
Holding a homemade billboard at a local market, Wei Dexiang walked around, advertising for "a kind-hearted woman in her 40s or 50s".
His three children hoped he would accept an invitation to live with one of them, but the father preferred to live with a new wife.
If he finds a wife, she will be his fourth. His first wife died decades ago, and two other marriages ended in divorce.
