MAREMARE

With a very rich and traditional menu I focused on the tapas section because tapas is so much fun; small selections of the tastiest foods, not an appetizer not a meal but you will find yourself wandering through that side of the menu all night.

Add in a nice Spanish wine from their wine list and you have very unique dining experience. I topped of at seven very fine and traditional samples from Mare's Best 30 list.

The manager made a strong recommendation of the baby lamb chops, so much so that you would think they were his own creation, and he was right on. Tender, flavorful and cooked perfectly to a nice medium rare these lamb chops were some of the best I have had in Beijing.

Following that was a spicy and garlic infused dish of shrimp that was a good use of local ingredients in a foreign recipe. Something that this restaurant has managed well with.
