Construction work on the country's first elevated bicycle path has been finished in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, just before Spring Festival on Jan 27.
The path, built beneath a bus lane, provides easy access to bus stations, BRT stations, overpasses and buildings along the 7.6-kilometer route.
The elevated path is about 2.5 meters wide, and the highest elevated section is five meters above the ground. The path is exclusively for bicycles, and electric bikes and other vehicles are prohibited.
