Whampoa veterans recorded with glory

To celebrate the 90th anniversary of Whampoa Military Academy, which falls on Monday, a team of university students in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, honored 28 Whampoa graduates who fought in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. Whampoa, known as China's West Point, is China's first modern military academy. It is a beacon of liberation and cradle to many revolutionaries. Many of its graduates have left the world.

To grasp and record the oral history told by the veterans, students from Nanjing University of Finance and Economics have been interviewing the veterans over the past three months. A documentary is being made based on those interviews.

Though aged from 89 to 100, the veterans still cherish fresh memories of the war they fought.
