China Three Gorges Corp's chairman and general manager have been removed from their posts after evidence of power abuse was found at the State-owned company.

Company Chairman Cao Guangjing and General Manager Chen Fei were relieved of duties, the company said on its website on March 25.

Wang Jingqing, deputy head of the Organization Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, announced the decision that afternoon.

Wang said that Cao and Chen will get new posts, but he did not elaborate.

Lu Chun was named the new company chairman, while Wang Lin became the general manager.

CTGC, which runs the world's largest hydropower project, was inspected late last year by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, China's top anti-corruption watchdog.

A two-month inspection uncovered evidence pointing to wrongdoing, including power abuse, in the bidding and contracting of projects and the holding of extravagant official receptions.
