Sino-German Media Co Ltd, a TV production joint venture, said it hopes to produce more programs about Chinese culture at its production center in Tianjin to show to viewers in Germany.

The company has reached an agreement with Tianjin Foreign Cultural Trade Base, an organization for cultural exchange between domestic and overseas enterprises.

"Our company has a live TV show in Germany that shows the diversity and richness of Chinese culture. We hope that we can get more high-quality cultural content to show, and cooperation with the base can help us reach this goal," said Markle Jansen, a project manager of the company.

Located in the Dongjiang Free Trade Port Zone, the base has cultural streets, international art warehouses and exhibition area to showcase.

"As art exhibitions have been successful in Shanghai and Shenzhen, Tianjin will try some new forms of art trade to attract cultural firms," said Yang Liu, deputy director of the administrative committee of the Dongjiang Free Trade Port Zone.

Tianjin Foreign Cultural Trade Service Co, which is the main operator of Tianjin Foreign Cultural Trade Base, was established two years ago.

The company has agreed to cooperate with 30 cultural enterprises and institutions from home and abroad.

Enterprises and institutions in the base will enjoy financing policies, which are under a process of approval, according to local media reports.

The advantageous location of Tianjin and its rich cultural products are attracting overseas cultural companies to invest in the base, Yang said.

Ye Xingqian, chairman of the French Contemporary Artists Association, said his main reason to come here is because Tianjin is so close to Beijing.

According to Ye, the artworks produced by his association will be on display at the base as the first batch of exhibition products.

"Foreign companies can also enrich art products at the base," said Ou Yonglin, president of Tianjin Foreign Cultural Trade Service Co.
