Gong Weibin pointed out that China is an active participant in global and regional humanitarian aid endeavors. In particular, since the official launch of humanitarian aid & disaster relief mechanism in 2004, and under the support and leadership of Chinese Government, more and more philanthropic organizations, companies and individuals are participating in humanitarian aid activities. In the past five years, the Chinese Government has carried out more than 200 humanitarian aid missions, making it an important source of foreign aid to Asia, Latin America and especially Africa. He also noted that in the past years, China Society of Emergency Management and National Institute of Emergency Management of Chinese Academy of Governance have taken humanitarian aid as an important component of teaching & training, think tank construction and international cooperation & exchange, with positive results achieved. He mentioned that given the new challenges facing the humanitarian cause, we must gather wisdom from all parties to explore adequate solutions, and strengthen exchanges and cooperation to push ahead the development of humanitarian cause and benefit people from all around the world.
