Vanke to attend Expo Milano

Vanke will attend Expo Milano once again after successfully participating in the 2010 Shanghai World Expo and will become the first Chinese company to join the Expo in overseas pavilion-building during the 163 years of Expo history.

On March 4, Vanke Pavilion press conference was held at Expo Milano 2015. Yu Liang, President of Vanke Group; Alberto Bradanini, Italian Ambassador; Yao Rui, Associate Director of Exhibition Department of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade; Zhou Yijia, Expo Milano organization committee's China representative; Ding Changfeng, Executive Vice President of Vanke Group; and others attended the event.

At the news conference, Vanke Pavilion building, exhibition, graphic design plan and Vanke Expo Team were presented. Theme of this year's Expo Milano is "Nourishing the earth, energy of life".

Vanke Pavilion, which focuses on new styles, has "dining hall" as the exhibition theme, which happens to coincide with the big theme of the Expo this time.

It will tell a Chinese story to the world in the form of "Media Forest". "Media Forest" is composed of 300 screens placed irregularly and they will play a film lasting 8-10 minutes. The film captures the slice of real life of ordinary residents from nearly 60 Chinese cities in community Shitangs, and vividly interprets the concept of "Building community through food" of Vanke Pavilion.

In the eyes of Vanke, what the dining hall represents is not only a place to have food. Vanke Pavilion attempts to take the Shitang as a point of reference to show the real situation of empty-nest elderly and left-behind children as well as the social issues triggered by increasing alienation and loneliness in the age of high-speed urbanization.

Yao Rui, Associate Director of Exhibition Department of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said Expo Milano reveals the modern enterprising image of China and shows the soft power of China to the world.

China Council for the Promotion of International Trade is the force behind China's participation in Expo, and Vanke's successful participation in this year's Expo has its strong backing.
