SEOUL - Asiana Airlines, South Korea's No 2 air carrier, said Wednesday that it has signed a deal for code-sharing services with Air Macau, the Chinese island's biggest airline.

The code-sharing flight on the Incheon-Macau route will be launched from Nov 30 in a bid to allow passengers of Asiana Airlines to use the flights of Air Macau in a more convenient way, according to an e-mailed statement.

Code-sharing is an arrangement where two or more airlines share the same flight. Seats on one carrier's flights can be sold by another airline.

With the agreement, Asiana Airlines will be allowed to sell the tickets for the Air Macau's route between Incheon and Macau which is being operated once a day.

The agreement increased Asiana Airlines' code-sharing to 246 routes in 18 countries signed with 24 foreign carriers.
