The ninth China International Import Expo, which opened on Thursday, is serving as a competitive arena for cutting-edge technology from around the world, with the Chinese market functioning as a testing ground for global innovation.
This year's CIIE boasts even stronger innovation momentum. Data from the Ministry of Commerce showed that for the first time, over 300 Fortune Global 500 companies and industry-leading enterprises are participating.
In the medical equipment and healthcare products exhibition area, Siemens Healthineers is showcasing nearly 20 innovative products, solutions, and achievements in ecosystem collaboration and value partnerships.
In the oncology field, precision and efficiency take center stage with the world debut of the company's Halcyon Evolve intelligent ring-gantry radiotherapy platform. Featuring SHARP technology for the first time, it delivers five times the fine beam-shaping capability, enables 50 percent faster treatment planning, and cuts quality assurance time in half, helping bring precision radiotherapy within reach of more patients.
Established in 2017 as a joint venture between the United States-based Intuitive Surgical, a global leader in medical surgical robots, and the Shanghai-headquartered Fosun Pharma, Intuitive Fosun has been dedicated to advancing the application of minimally invasive diagnostic and treatment technologies in China.
A highlight at Intuitive Fosun's booth is the first exhibition in China of the da Vinci 5 surgical system, Intuitive's next-generation robotic-assisted surgical system for thoracoscopic and laparoscopic procedures that features over 150 design innovations.
With powerful computing capabilities, upgraded force feedback technology, intelligent workflows, high-quality 3D visual effects and optimized ergonomics, it provides a surgical platform that meets current needs while looking toward the future of intelligent and digital development in minimally invasive surgery.
"China is a really important strategic market for Intuitive. It is not only because there is an opportunity to impact minimally invasive care here, but also because of the ecosystem of innovation and manufacturing and supply chain capability that we can also learn from and use to advance robotics," Dave Rosa, CEO and member of the board of directors, Intuitive Surgical, said.
Chen Yuqing, chairman of Fosun Pharma, stated that the CIIE serves as a crucial platform for China's high-level opening-up, and the company looks forward to the increased opportunities for collaboration that continued openness will bring.
"Fosun Pharma will continue to lead with innovation, accelerating the introduction of more high-quality and affordable innovative products in China, while also helping Chinese innovations reach the global stage," Chen said.
In the intelligent industry and information technology exhibition area, Sony unveiled its driver takeover warning system for the first time globally. This system relies on a visual language model to analyze real road scenarios.
When the autonomous driving system is nearing its operational limits, it alerts the driver to take control of the vehicle based on the level of risk. The system uses chain logic reasoning to compare the current road environment with the predefined safe operating range of the autonomous driving system.
According to the company, this solution is designed for car manufacturers and autonomous driving solution providers, offering technical support for determining takeover timing and designing human-machine interaction processes.
