China is willing to work with other countries to create a favorable environment for mutually beneficial cooperation, better match supply with demand and promote shared growth, Vice-Minister of Commerce Yan Dong said on Thursday, calling on trading partners to seize opportunities under the "Big Market for All: Export to China" initiative.
Speaking at a sub-forum of the ninth Hongqiao International Economic Forum in Shanghai, Yan urged countries to tap into China's vast consumer market, leverage their respective strengths and expand cooperation to benefit businesses and people worldwide.
The remarks came as the Export-to-China Capacity Development Report was launched at the forum. Published by the Institute of World Economics and Politics under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the report examines China's import landscape and trade opportunities across 10 partner countries, drawing on research by Chinese scholars and United Nations experts.
The report showed that China absorbed 9.2 percent of global exports in 2025, up from 3.2 percent in 2000. It has remained the world's second-largest importer for 17 consecutive years.
