From APEC to Northeast Asia, how can AI cooperation turn shared ambitions into tangible results? Hyun Sang Baek, chief representative of the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy's Beijing Office, said the APEC AI Initiative has set a common direction for regional cooperation, and hopes this year's APEC meeting in Shenzhen will help turn that vision into action. He called for closer cooperation in AI applications across manufacturing, industrial robotics and smart manufacturing, while bringing more SMEs and research institutions into the process to ensure the benefits are shared across the region. Hyun made such remarks at a symposium co-organized by the International Business School of Beijing Foreign Studies University and China Daily Opinion Channel on Oct 30 in Beijing.
